I used the resources listed under the memes tab on the digital studies website for UMW students. I also used the information provided on the meme tab page. I read the article What Defines a Meme? on the Smithsonian website to learn about the history of memes. I also read an article on the Vice website called Surreal Memes Are the Last Escape the Internet Has about the importance and use of surreal memes. I used the info I gathered from vice, as well as my own knowledge of surreal memes, to create my own surreal meme. I used the free photo editor Canva to create my surreal meme. What I was most proud of was the surreal meme I ended up making. It made a lot of people laugh, so I felt like I did a good job making it.
